Theo Ruth (1915–1971) was a Dutch furniture designer who helped shape the course of post-war design in the Netherlands. Born in Maastricht, he studied at the Middelbare Kunstnijverheidsschool, which later became part of the Maastricht Academy of Fine Arts. In 1936, he joined Wagemans & Van Tuinen—soon to be known as Artifort—and by 1939, he was leading the company’s design and development department.
